Equitable Development PlanENVIRONMENTAL PERFORMANCE METRICS
A key objective of the 11th Street Bridge Park is to improve the environment of the surrounding area. Over the past year, we partnered with the Landscape Architecture Foundation to create measurable environmental performance metrics for this new civic space. This baseline data will help inform our design and can be measured once the park opens to ensure we are meeting our goals.

Although essential to our infrastructure, bridges are also symbols and inspiration for writers, artists and engineers. Neo-classic D.C. and modern sensibilities vie for funds, to maintain and change the face and functionality of D.C. View The Bridges of D.C. curriculum here.
THE 11TH STREET BRIDGE PARK BASELINE HEALTH ASSESSMENT
A key goal of the 11th Street Bridge Park is to build healthy communities in the neighborhoods surrounding the future park. In partnership with George Washington University’s Milken Institute School of Public Health, we are issuing the first phase of a Health Impact Assessment using existing data sets to describe the current health status of residents living within a half-mile walk shed of the future Bridge Park site and conditions related to their built environment. This phase of the Health Impact Assessment was supported by The Kresge Foundation.

HR&A Advisors has led similar studies for New York City’s High Line, Baltimore’s Inner Harbor and DC’s Southwest Eco-District. We would like to thank the Anacostia Business Improvement District for their support.
