Grounded in the legacy of dynamic female educators and religious pioneers, The Washington School for Girls (WSG) encourages young girls growing up in the underserved area of Anacostia to stay in school and excel beyond their imaginations.
Designed for students in grades 3 through 8, the school offers an academically challenging curriculum with careful emphasis on science, mathematics, language, and the arts. In addition to their year-round program, extended day, graduate support program, and Saturday School, students have opportunities for spiritual, social, and emotional growth. Parental involvement activities engage family members in every aspect of their child’s educational journey.
Upon graduation, students receive application assistance for the area’s top rated high schools. It is promised that from this experience, young women of competence, compassion, and commitment to leadership in their families and communities will emerge.
WSG is located on two campuses. THEARC Campus serves grades
6-8, and The VIEW Campus, located at 1604 Morris Road, SE, serves grades 3 – 5.
