- The Farm Director is responsible for overseeing all programming at THEARC Farms and Bridge Park Plots, collectively referred to as “BBAR Farms.” The Farm Director ensures that BBAR Farms function as a cohesive food access and education site. This position supervises two full-time BBAR Farm staff, develops and leads fundraising and educational programs, creates and tracks annual budget, creates and executes Memorandum of Agreements (MOA) and contracts with external partners, strategizes and implements community engagement and partnership building, and assists with farm maintenance as required including capital improvements.

- Responsibilities include:
Finance / Budgeting / Development
- Prepare an annual budget and program development plan that includes specific
fundraising goals. Submit budget and plan to Vice President for review, comment and
approval. - Manage on-going expenses and revenue for BBAR Farms. Meet monthly with Finance
team to ensure budget targets are met. - Working with the Development Director, write and submit grants supporting BBAR
Farms and coordinate regular grant reports and ensure fundraising goals are met. - Identify and cultivate new funding prospects to further build the capacity of the
organization and bring new prospects into the pipeline. This includes foundations,
corporations, government, and individuals. - Working with the Development Department staff, develop letters of inquiry, proposals
, and budgets for grant proposals. - Assist with regular donor cultivation events over the course of the year. This includes
regular speaking opportunities. - Approve and monitor all purchases necessary for production and program success.
- Deliver regular deposits and invoices to BBAR Director of Finance.
Outreach and Partnership Building
- Prepare an annual budget and program development plan that includes specific
- Work closely with BBAR Farms partners to identify opportunities for collaboration
- Coordinate relationships with each of the Bridge Park Plots to ensure they are
successful, and stakeholders have the needed resources. Meet on a regular basis with
Bridge Park Plot stakeholders. Update and execute annual MOAs. - Collaborate with the BBAR Board and staff to ensure activities at BBAR Farms are in
line with organizational vision and attend regular BBAR meetings as necessary. - Create annual community engagement strategy and work with staff to coordinate
activities bringing together youth and adults in the gardens with particular focus on
residents in Wards 6, 7 and 8.
Food Access and Farm Maintenance - Responsibilities include:
- Supervise BBAR Farm staff to ensure proper maintenance and recordkeeping of
activities. - Supervise BBAR Farm Market Manager who oversees weekly CSA program including
recruitment, procurement, sales, and documentation. - Convene weekly staff meetings to maximize communication and productivity of staff and
programs. - Ensure Farm yields meet seasonal targets. Food produced at THEARC Farm is primarily
used in the spring, summer and fall C.R.I.S.P. CSA. - Assist in general Farm maintenance (i.e. planting, watering, harvesting, etc.)
Administration and Communication - Work with BBAR Farm staff and Bridge Park Plot partners to set annual goals / targets.
- Hold quarterly staff reviews for direct reports (2 FTE) along with annual Professional
Growth Plans. - Monitor, document, and provide regular written reports on all BBAR Farm activities (i.e.
quarterly board meetings, annual report, etc.) - Provide quarterly report to BBAR Administrative staff.
- Meet weekly with BBAR Vice President to evaluate benchmark success and manage the
BBAR Farm budget. - Regularly provide material to Marketing Team for social media and newsletter updates
on the Farm’s activities and events. - Author and edit original content for online communications channels as appropriate (i.e.
blog posts, social media posts, etc.) - Update website on a regular basis with programs, events, CSA sign ups and general
