Virtual Workshop: Preserve Summer’s Bounty of Fruit

Jacki Bush, a native Washingtonian from Ward 7, will prepare a simple strawberry jam using a water bath canning process.  She will discuss the history of canning and use a step by step process to ensure safety protocols are adhered to when canning.  Canning your own fruits and tomato sauces is not hard!  It just takes some patience and attention to detail.  Jacki will show us how!

Jacki’s preserves will also be featured in our CSA shares the same day, so our members can sample her products at home!

This workshop will be broadcast over zoom, filmed right here in the DC Central Kitchen at THEARC by our own team from iCan.
