The Art of Human Care book signing event and fundraiser
at THEARC in
Washington, D.C. on September 26

(WASHINGTON—August 20, 2019) – The author of “The Art of Human Care,” Dr. Hassan A. Tetteh, will hold a book signing at THEARC in Washington on Thursday, September 26 at 6 p.m.
Hosted by Guy Lambert, news director at WPGC 95.5 FM, this event will also serve as a fundraiser. All of the proceeds from the book sales and all donations will go to Miriam’s Kitchen, a nonprofit organization dedicated to ending chronic homelessness in Washington, DC. A few of Miriam’s Kitchen’s artists and advocates will also share their artistic creations at the event.
“I am a supporter and advocate for Miriam’s Kitchen, and strongly believe in the mission of the organization. Many of Miriam’s Kitchen’s clients are outstanding artists, and I wanted to highlight their phenomenal talent and work [at the event],” Tetteh said.

“[Dr. Tetteh’s] generous donation will support our Studio program, which is a therapeutic, safe space for guests to freely express themselves through painting, drawing, jewelry making, sculpting, writing and more,” Mei Powers, chief development officer, Miriam’s Kitchen said.

“I’m looking forward to our guests having a platform at the book event to share their creations and explain how art has helped on their journey to healing and housing,” said Rebeca Carvajal, senior art therapist, Miriam’s Kitchen.
