What is the cost to host events in the Community Meeting Room and Recital Hall?
Cost varies for individuals and organizations based on a three tier fee schedule. Weekend rates and full day rentals have special pricing.
Are tables and chairs provided in my rental?
Yes, Building Bridges Across the River will provide tables and chairs for your event setup. Please note we do not provide linens or any additional decor items.
What kind of events are permitted in the Community Meeting Room and Recital Hall?
Workshops, trainings, education programs, meetings, film screenings, small receptions and banquets, class recitals, dance classes or rehearsals.
Is A/V support provided in the room venues?
The Community Meeting Room is equipped with screen and projection. Portable speakers must be provided by groups.
The Recital Hall does not come equipped with screen and projection. BBAR can add screen and projection upon request.
Microphones and speakers can be added. There is a fee associated with setup and use of BBAR audio equipment.
Will I be allowed to hang items on the wall?
In the Community Meeting Room we ask that painters tape or non-stick or easily removable tape be used. Scotch tape or hook adhesives are not permitted.
How can I advertise my event?
Event flyer must be submitted no later than 60 days out from event date for approval to be uploaded to THEARC Website. All advertisements must adhere to BBAR branding policy on advertisement. Please do not flyer the parking lot area.
Specifying the venue, location address, correct branding, and date of event. Use of our logo is not permitted.
Ex. THEARC Community Meeting Room, 1901 Mississippi Avenue, S.E. Washington, DC 20020.
BBAR Marquee is reserved for THEARC resident partner events, theater, and black box.
How far in advance can I schedule my event?
Events can be scheduled at anytime based on availability.
Are we permitted to have food and beverage in the space?
Yes, food and beverage is permitted in the room spaces. If alcoholic beverages are served we require a certificate of liability insurance and license from a ABRA holder or temporary insurance.
Is parking available for my guests?
Free parking lot is available on a 1st come 1st serve basis. Due to the expansion our campus is a high traffic area. We ask you please inform guest about the parking in advance. Street parking is available as well as for weekend events additional parking in our lots located at 21st & Mississippi Avenue and Staton & Mississippi Avenue.
When is payment due for my event?
Payment in full is due at the time of booking along with the submission of the application.
